To keep you busy and staying in tune with your swimming skills during lockdown, we've got some great GOswim at-home activities, tips and swimming news just for you 😊
Little Swimmers Activities
We may not be able to Learn to Swim in-Centre, but we can still practice some skills at home that will help us in the water!
Check out our ‘Numeracy Skills with Your Little One’ video below. This exercise is a great way for children to learn their numbers while also being in a water environment.

Get your FREE Learn to Swim Lesson for Learn2Swim Week!
We have partnered with Learn2Swim Week to offer a free introductory swimming lesson between 25 September – 4 October for kids under five in our local area. This campaign introduces children to water safety and educates on the benefits of teaching them lifesaving water skills. Learn2Swim Week is a Poolwerx initiative, supported by Laurie Lawrence and his Kids Alive – Do The Five program.

Why start swimming lessons young?
Did you know that the infant and the preschool aquatic program is designed to help not just infants and young children, but also parents to become familiar with water!
When you start swimming lessons with children young, it allows you to spend quality time with your child and it can assist you to build a special bond between you and your child. Encouraging your child in play also promotes the development of language and cognition, social interaction and cooperative experience.
Our swim teachers use songs, games and rhymes during their classes helps to create a happy, warm and friendly environment. They also provide toys and equipment to create a setting, which helps facilitate trust between the teacher and your child too.
We encourage the use of songs, games and rhymes in at-home water environments too, to help you continue growing your child's confidence around the water.
The benefits of Infant and Preschool classes:
- Education of parent and children on the dangers of an aquatic environment
- Parents are able to encourage children to develop water confidence and the ability to learn
- For children to develop positive opportunities to enjoy the aquatic environments
- Commence preliminary aquatic activities which with growth, practise and time lead children to develop age appropriate aquatic skills
- Promotes physical, personal and intellectual well being
- Promotes bonding between parent and child as well as a range of social interactions
