With drowning statistics increasing annually, equipping yourself or your child with the skills of survival in and around water is priceless. Our focus is to provide high quality experienced instructors in an environment where students of all ages are able to progress rapidly.

Following the Swim & Survive program. our approach is two prong-water safety & stroke development. Our student's success is driven by our Austswim qualified instructors that focus on providing an environment that enables students to fulfill their swimming potential.

 

The Swim & Survive program is as follows:

 

INFANT CLASSES

WONDER

Wonder Level 1

6 MONTHS - 12 MONTHS

Wonder Level 2

12 MONTHS - 2 YEARS

Wonder Level 3

2 YEARS - 3.5 YEARS

PRE SCHOOL CLASSES

COURAGE

Courage Level 1

3/4 YEAR OLD BEGINNER

Further develop assisted floating and body

movements in water. With assistance, float and recover to standing position.

Courage Level 2        

4 YEAR OLD CONFIDENT BEGINNER

With assistance, float and recover to

standing position.

Courage Level 3

3/4 YEAR OLD CONFIDENT SWIMMERS

Float to standing position, independant

movement through water for 3 minutes.

Courage Level 4

4 YEAR OLD CONFIDENT SWIMMERS

Introduction to freestyle and backstroke development. 

OTHER CLASSES

ADULT LESSONS

BEGINNERS TO ADVANCED

Focus on confidence and stroke development.

SCHOOL AGE CLASSES

ACTIVE

Active (development) Level 1

5/6 YEAR OLD NON SWIMMERS

Water familiarization, introduction to submersion

and independant movement through water.

Active Level 1

5-7 YEAR OLDS MORE CONFIDENT

Independant submersion, floating and movement

with feet clear of the bottom for 3 minutes.

Active (development) Level 2

ASSESSMENT

Swim for 30 seconds with floatation aid.

Demonstrate freestyle and backstroke arms

assisted for 10 metres.

Active Level 2

ASSESSMENT

Basic freestyle, backstroke and sculling.

Swim 10 metres using efficient technique.

Undertake survival activities.

Active (development) Level 3

ASSESSMENT

Swim 30 metres resembling a stroke.

Swim 15 metres survival backstroke.

Active Level 3

ASSESSMENT

Swim 30 metres of 2 or more strokes, using

efficient stroke technique.

Introduction to breaststroke kick.

Active Level 4 to Active Level 7

ASSESSMENT

Working on being able to swim efficiently in all strokes.
